Poor Boba was found abandoned at a local gas station. The finder saw him alone and scared. He was skin and bones and sickly! They reached out to Dallas Dog for assistance. We got him to the vet immediately and discovered he had the dreaded and deadly Parvo Virus.
I want to remember him like this and I want the monster that left him for dead to see his face. He was just 8 weeks old and was infected with the Parvo Virus. A preventable We pray , we treat, we pray some more and we hope they have the strength and fight to survive but sadly sometimes it is just too much for their little bodies.
Boba had zero fight left and his vet care team and I felt that his body was shutting down. His bloodwork was the worst I have seen. Levels were ar zero we felt he was septic. The virus was killing his marrow and his body was shutting down. We were willing to go the long haul and do everything possible to save this precious baby however as badly as I wanted him to pull through I also do not want to put him through hell in the process and experience more pain.
Rescue is so hard and it is getting harder by the day. I am a pretty strong woman but it is starting to take a toll on me emotionally.
Boba deserved better. He deserved a family that gave a shit about him, gave him a warm bed, toys and lots of love and kisses. He was just a puppy with his whole life ahead of him. How many more have to die before society wakes up?! Dogs are living things. They are NOT property. They are supposed to be part of our families.
Things have to change, people need to change, we need to do better.
Thank you to everyone that prayed, donated and sent kind words. Boba will be forever grateful for the love he received on his final moments.
Forever loved Boba.
To say we are heartbroken is an understatement. I wanted to take the time to thank them staff at Airport Freeway Animal Emergency Hospital and a special thank you to his two doctors that fought tirelessly to save him.
This poor tiny baby was left for dead at a gas station. There is NO EXCUSE for animal abandonment.
Please vaccinate you dogs especially when they are puppies!!! If you know someone who needs resources to care for or keep their dog, please visit our Serenity Project page.
