Why Volunteer with Us?

Every act of kindness, no matter how small, makes a difference. Our dogs appreciate every ounce of love, and as a volunteer, you’ll experience the joy of their companionship, the satisfaction of their gratitude, and the fulfillment of being part of a mission that changes lives.

What’s Volunteering Like?

Volunteering at Dallas DogRRR is about more than tasks—it’s about connection. From the smallest acts, like refilling a water bowl, to joining us at events, every contribution helps our dogs feel safe, cared for, and valued. And in return, you’ll find they have a way of melting your heart and making every moment worthwhile.

It Takes a Village

Dallas DogRRR’s mission is possible because of people like you. Together, we work toward a community where every dog finds a safe, loving home. Join our village of volunteers today to be a part of this mission. We couldn’t do it without you.

volunteer process

  • Start by submitting your volunteer application on our website. Once received, our team will review your application and contact you within 24-48 hours to discuss your interests, availability, and how you can help support our rescue efforts.

  • After your application is reviewed, you’ll be invited to attend a volunteer orientation. This session will introduce you to the different ways you can get involved with Dallas DogRRR, including events, fostering, transport, administrative work, and hands-on animal care.

  • Based on your preferences and the rescue’s needs, you’ll be assigned a role where you can make the most impact. Whether you’re helping at adoption events, coordinating fosters, or assisting with administrative tasks, we’ll provide guidance and support to ensure you’re comfortable and successful in your role.

  • Once your role is assigned, you’ll start volunteering. Our team will stay in touch with you to offer support, answer questions, and ensure you have what you need to succeed. You’ll also have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities or leadership roles as you grow with the organization.

  • We encourage volunteers to stay engaged by attending events, providing feedback, and helping to recruit others. There are always opportunities to get more involved, whether by leading volunteer teams, organizing events, or working directly with our rescue animals. Your ongoing commitment is what helps make our mission possible!

DISCLAIMERS

At Dallas DogRRR, all of our animals go through a thorough medical and behavioral evaluation process. While it’s not necessarily rigorous, each dog is carefully monitored and supported through our foster system, where they receive medical care and are observed in a home environment. Our fosters are trained to help support the behavioral needs of the animals, regularly updating us on their progress and any concerns. This allows us to disclose all known behaviors to potential adopters. However, as with any animal, new behaviors may emerge as they become more comfortable in their new home.

For our boarding dogs, many have experienced a home environment at some point and receive regular socialization and training, including the Canine Good Citizen program and work with volunteers. Some dogs also undergo more intensive training based on their individual needs.

We provide full transparency to adopters about each pet’s medical and behavioral history, but please understand that every dog’s behavior can evolve as they adjust to a new environment. However, we do not guarantee breed or age, as these details are based on the information available at the time of rescue.
