5 Frenchie Puppies Were Surrendered Suffering From Parvo - Dallas Dog Stepped in to Save them All

Updated: Sep 12, 2022

When we were alerted of 5 puppies surrendered due to PARVO, we knew we had to step in. We received an emergency plea for FIVE French Bulldog puppies who were all battling a deadly disease. Through no fault of their own, their bodies are failing them. These puppies were being forced to fight for a life. And they haven't had the chance to even live yet.

After the puppies were diagnosed with the deadly parvo disease, the breeder asked the vet if someone could step in and take care of them. At first, they only wanted to surrender the two puppies that were the most critical, but they eventually went back and surrendered the other three. The poor babies were underweight, one had conjunctivitis, and the others were beginning to show symptoms that raise serious red flags.

The five Frenchies were taken to the ER to receive the medical attention they so desperately need.

These babies are victims of irresponsible backyard breeders.

The breeder had these puppies in kennels and never vetted them. At 7 months old, they had never received one vaccine!

During the cold front, the "breeder: would spray the kennels with cold water in the freezing temperatures. These puppies were housed in his garage and when it became too hard to care for them.....he asked for them to be EUTHANIZED! He did not properly care for them, and then wanted to end their lives when it started to show.

All 5 puppies fought for their lives. All had parvo and other conditions.

Opie had bronchitis that turned into pneumonia! He was on oxygen and was fading.

Opie is a 6 lb fighter.

Thankfully, after very lengthy and expensive hospital stays, all 5 were able to go into foster homes with Dallas Dog.

These sweet babies have been through hell and back. All hospitalized for Parvo and URI as well as eye ulcers and a cough. They are all underwent nebulizer treatments!

It’s hard not to get angry reading this — parvo is brutal even when caught early, and these puppies basically never had a chance with that kind of neglect. If anything good comes out of posts like this, I hope it pushes more people to stop buying from backyard breeders and to ask basic vaccine questions up front; it reminds me of how people compare surface “looks fine” signals in unrelated places like StyleLookLab. Really hoping all five make it.

The detail about spraying kennels with cold water during a freeze is horrifying, and it explains why they were already so underweight and sick. I’m really curious if any of the pups end up with long-term GI issues after parvo, even if they pull through; I saw a similar “survive now, pay later” vibe discussed in a totally different space on imgg. Fingers crossed Opie and the others keep improving.

Reading this made my stomach drop — 7 months with no vaccines and then asking to euthanize them when they got sick is just beyond. I hope they recover and that someone holds the breeder accountable; it’s the same kind of “they’re just numbers” mentality I run into even in random contexts like CaesarCipher where the human/ethical part gets ignored. Those pups deserved basic care from day one.

This is a very heartbreaking but important update, and the post does a good job of highlighting how serious and fast-moving parvo can be in young puppies. I recently came across a similar discussion on a review blog, and it offered an interesting perspective as well. It also reflects how clear and responsible communication, much like the approach emphasized at https://grandoaksorthodontics.com/ in patient guidance, helps people better understand urgent and sensitive situations.

Reading about these five French Bulldog puppies fighting parvo is heartbreaking, and I truly hope they all recover with the emergency care they’re receiving. I admire the people who stepped in to give them a chance at life when they needed it most. Stories like this remind me how important compassion is, and I know I would never stop rooting for these little fighters—just like I enjoy escaping into EaglerCraft, I believe every small victory matters.
