A Mother's Love or a Mother's Fear?

Updated: Sep 27, 2023

As a mother of a young man my biggest fear is losing him! Can you imagine that you and your child are being contained in a cage, not knowing what will come next and not knowing if you will live or die?

This mom does not feel safe you can tell by her eyes and the puppy just as our child would, she goes to her mom for comfort to feel safe!!

What would you do? I saw this picture last night I am struggling to unsee it, I am struggling on our next step… We are full, we have zero fosters open.

How do you look at this picture and turn away? How do you do nothing? How can I save them when we have fosters begging for their dogs to be moved? So many uncertainties for sure, I am left with a tough choice- not tag, and she and her baby will die or tag and beg for forgiveness and hope for a miracle!

I could not stop thinking about them, so late last night, I sent in the tag for us to rescue. They are both skin and bones, covered in ticks, bellies full of worms, and their gums are pale. They need immediate medical care, they also need a loving foster home.

Orchid and Pedal are now safe mom are very sick, and the baby has a lot of worms and dead ticks!!!

They are both skin and bones, covered in ticks, bellies full of worms, and their gums are pale. They need immediate medical care, they also need a loving foster home. Please help me welcome Orchid and Petal.

Mom and baby sat in the shelter since 9/15 during that time, she gained no weight and developed double pneumonia she is being hospitalized!

The baby is full of worms and anemic but seems to be doing okay. Orchid protected her baby, and once she knew she was safe, she let her back know I was safe. Keep mama in your prayers.

Orchid wanted to let you know she was feeling better. Petal is doing amazing in foster, and she is waiting for her mama to be released.

She is such a good girl she was pulled from the shelter with her little girl. She was sick she had double pneumonia and was hospitalized.

Keep this family in your thoughts.
