THE ABUSE MUST STOP! Tyler NEEDS OUR HELP!

Updated: Sep 12, 2022

Imagine this being YOUR life….

Tyler was a healthy puppy purchased from a backyard breeder at just a couple of months old. At 3-4 months old his owner discovered Tyler had an obstruction. Unable to afford his surgery, he found a foundation to help pay for the procedure. Post-life-saving surgery, he was instructed to carefully follow guidelines and to follow up with the veterinarian. Despite the doctor and staff’s best efforts to contact the “owner”, he EVADED their calls.

Fast forward to November 2021, and history repeated itself. Tyler was back at the vet per reckless disobedience of the man who called himself Tyler’s family. Tests identified an obstruction of chicken bones and rocks (yes rocks!). Like a terrible case of deja vu, Tyler’s owner did not have the money. The veterinarian and staff loved Tyler and found a rescue to help cover the cost of a SECOND obstruction surgery. Again the vets elaborated on what Tyler’s post-operation care looked like and again he neglected to listen and keep in touch.

This is Tyler today. He escaped the house of horrors and was picked up by animal control. Tyler’s abuser attempted to lie, saying he had in fact provided medical care to the clearly malnourished skeleton dog that stood before them. Being Tyler’s voice, the veterinarians and staff advocated for him, stating that the abuser’s story was a blatant lie. Tyler is free from his abusive owner but currently at the animal shelter. The dog you see below is a husk of a puppy that should not have endured this trauma. He needs a miracle and life line. Three strikes and he’ll be out! Quite literally!! If he has another obstruction the odds of his survival is extremely slim. We cannot save Tyler without your help. Hospitalization is not cheap and the likelihood of a special diet for the duration of his life is high. Tyler will need a committed medical foster. We cannot save him without funds and a foster.

Tyler’s story should ignite outrage. We should be questioning how this happened in the first place. Tyler did nothing to deserve this. Please help us save this sweet boy, he is on his way to Emergency Hospital now.

What would you do?

The first vet who saw Tyler in his skeletal form immediately said he felt he was too far gone and should be let go. His advocate just could not do that and asked for fluids and time to find a rescue. I agreed with her.

How could you not want to fight for this sweet boy who even in the horrible shape he was in made one last effort to save his own life by escaping? On the way to the ER she thought he had passed away but when she stopped to check on him he stirred and he ate a little food like he knew his life depended on it.

Tyler wants to live! He is fighting for his life! Please help us save him. He has already received one transfusion and his stay in the ER will be extensive. His condition is still guarded but he is feeling better with the transfusion.

We cannot do this without your support.

Please help us show Tyler that WE ALL CARE FOR HIM AND WILL FIGHT FOR HIM!!

Update: May 8, 2022

Tyler is so GRATEFUL to every single person that has sent prayers, kind messages, and donated to his care. He is going to be released today. His RBC is holding. He is still having diarrhea but we will be monitoring and doing a follow up this week!!

THANK YOU for your generous support of our mission. Tyler has a long road ahead of him and more testing but for now he is improving. He went into the ER at 30 lbs and today he is just at 34 lbs. 4 pounds he has gained!!

Update: May 9, 2022

Tyler is on the mend in his foster home. He is resting and recovering. He will head back to our vet this week and we will be looking over his recovery and testing for EPI.

Update: May 17, 2022

Tyler went back to the vet yesterday for a follow up. He has gained weight, however, he is still skin and bones !!!

We are testing him for a few things one being EPI and he is still having daily diarrhea episodes.

We will continue to update as we get the results!

At his foster home, Tyler really enjoys sunbathing. His foster mom reports that he is so very sweet and grateful for life and love. He does eat a lot and is able to go on short walks!

Tyler needs our prayers. We cannot rehabilitate without the support of our community. Donate so we can save more lives.
