Currently, North and Central Texas is under a Red Flag Warning. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have a wildfire emergency/disaster plan for you + your pets + fosters BEFORE you are immediately at risk. Please take a moment to read through the information from Red Cross and make a plan with family.

What is a Red Flag Warning? A Red Flag Warning means that extreme fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry vegetation can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Avoid all outside burning and welding today. Do not toss lit cigarette butts outside. Report wild fires to the nearest fire department or law enforcement office. What are the impacts of a Red Flag Warning? Wildfires will have the potential to grow and spread rapidly. Any activities that could start a wildfire should be avoided. Burning of any kind is strongly discouraged and may be unlawful in some counties. Where can I find resources for making an emergency plan for my pets and fosters? Visit the link below: Use the search bar on our blog page to locate dog enrichment + training + behavior from our trainer, Jennifer Caves. Incorporate as much as you can into your safety plan from the Red Cross. *Warning details for your area can be found in your weather app. *Information provided in this blog are volunteer recommendations and resources. These do not replace existing Dallas DogRRR nor veterinary recommendations for emergency procedures.

Remember to be pet aware in extreme temperatures.

Thank you for HELPING US, to HELP ANIMALS, overcome their yesterdays and rewrite their tomorrows.
