Serenity's Story: A Legacy of Love and Hope

In 2020, Serenity, a four-year-old Siberian Husky, was rescued from the San Antonio shelter. Her large, untreatable tumors prevented her from finding a loving home. Despite her appearance, Serenity had the spirit and energy of a playful puppy. She didn't care what the world thought of her because she was happy and finally getting the love she deserved.

The Tumor

When we first met Serenity, she came right up to Patti Dawson, the President of Dallas DogRRR, with kisses and expected pets in return. Despite her joy, we quickly discovered that Serenity had an invasive tumor that had taken away the bone in her face, extending above her eye socket and into her skull. Luckily, she could still see, breathe, and eat.

A Special Journey

We immediately knew that Serenity was a happy pup, and we were determined to make the remainder of her time extra special. We put out a call to DogRRR Nation, and the donations came flooding in. With the support of our community, we were able to spoil Serenity with delicious meals, lots of playtime, and even a professional photo shoot to capture her beautiful spirit.

A Legacy of Love

Serenity’s story touched many hearts. She received over 300 care packages filled with goodies and treats, bringing her immense joy. Serenity lived her best life, surrounded by love and care. When she told us it was time, we helped her cross the rainbow bridge.

The Serenity Project

Through Serenity’s journey, our President, Patti Dawson realized that no animal should suffer because a family can't provide vet care or access resources. This realization led to the creation of the Serenity Project. The project aimed to support families in the community by covering medical expenses, vaccines, and emergency bills.

From Serenity Project to Hero Project

The Serenity Project has since evolved into the Hero Project, which continues Serenity’s legacy by helping save dogs within the community. The Hero Project provides essential support to ensure that no animal suffers due to a lack of resources.

It depends on how quickly you can find larger terms to strategically put letters to extract information.
