Champs's story is HEARTBREAKING. Champs was found chained to a tree. He had been there, chained up for quite some time. The heavy chain was pad locked to his neck! Champs was found in a homeless camp. His collar was so embedded deep in his neck, it was necrotic and infected.
No one could find the key...the top of the chain was barely visible it was deeply embedded into his neck. His skin had already started healing over the chain! No one would take ownership of him in the camp. He needed immediate help!
We were not able to remove the chain on the scene, as it was secured so tightly with an industrial lock! We had to have it removed with medical assistance.
Who could do this to an innocent dog? This treatment is inexcusable. It is impossible to understand how this can happen and how he could suffer with this chain for so long. But thanks to our rescue efforts, we broke his lock and chain.
Today, Champs is fully healed, healthy and an all around amazing boy. He is so smart and so well behaved, and loves everyone he meets. He is eager to please his people and make them proud. Our trainer is working with him and he is so receptive and ready to please. He would sure love a home to experience life with a loving family. He is working on his excitement on a leash but is so eager to please. Champs seems to like everybody he meets: humans and canines. He has yet to interact with cats.
Champs's heart is still broken. Today, he sits waiting for his family in boarding. Please. Apply to adopt. If you cannot adopt, please share this handsome boy. He deserves the love of a forever home.
