Meet Aurora, a tiny Chihuahua who was found on the cold, rainy streets, her small body harboring a large, ominous tumor in her eye. At 8 years old and weighing a mere 5 pounds, Aurora's plight touched our hearts deeply at Dallas Dog.
Knowing we could not possibly turn away, we accepted her into our rescue and took her to the Animal Diagnostic Clinic at Trinity Mills to consult with an oncologist and specialist. The air was thick with anticipation as we awaited the next steps, which might include a CT scan. Our commitment has never wavered - to provide Aurora with the utmost care, ensuring her comfort.
Our hearts are heavy with the knowledge that her cancer is aggressive, posing challenging decisions ahead. Yet, we remain steadfast in our resolve to act in Aurora's best interest, ensuring her life is filled with love and joy.
However, this journey isn’t one we can navigate alone. We’ve reached out to our DogRRR community, seeking support in prayers and donations. Aurora’s situation is pressing, requiring immediate action to alleviate her pain and offer her a chance at a happier life. The generosity of every individual can significantly impact her journey.

After thorough consultations and tests, the grim reality dawned on us - Aurora is battling an extremely aggressive sarcoma. The medical team, after careful consideration, decided against surgery, prioritizing Aurora's quality of life over invasive procedures. In these moments, our focus shifts to celebrating Aurora's spirit and strength. We aim to fill her days with love, joy, and comfort, cherishing every precious moment. We understand the eventual decision to let her go will be heartbreaking, but for now, our priority is to make her remaining time as beautiful as possible.
