Dear Supporters,
I write to you today with a heavy heart and a sense of urgency that I have not felt in nearly eight years. Dallas Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation (Dallas Dog) is facing a critical financial crisis. As we approach the summer months, our funds are depleted, and the reality is stark: without immediate financial support, we may be forced to close our intake operations. We are already limited on our intake, having tried to restructure and cut back in areas. I am nervous about what the future holds for Dallas Dog if we continue down this road.
Over the past months, we have encountered numerous medical emergencies that have stretched our resources thin. From orthopedic surgeries to treating dogs with Parvo, the demand for our emergency fund has been relentless. Despite our best efforts, our emergency fund now stands at zero.
Many suggest we do too much or that we should humanely euthanize more dogs to save resources. While I understand this perspective, our mission has always been to invest fully in every dog we rescue. This commitment is why so many choose to support us. However, with our current financial challenges, we may need to reassess our approach. It is incredibly difficult to face the possibility of saying, "Sorry, we can’t save your life," simply because we lack the funds. When you don’t have the money, you don’t have the money. We are struggling to provide necessary medical care and surgeries because we just don’t have the funds.

Each dog that comes into our care holds a unique story of resilience and hope. Take Serenity, for instance, a gentle soul with chronic and incurable ailments whom we provided with a hospice foster to shower her with love during her final days. Or Harold, my sweet boy rescued from a puppy mill, whose life was forever changed by our commitment to rehabilitation and care. Then there’s Perkins, who was near death's door due to animal cruelty. We not only worked on saving his life after continuous mistreatment but also worked on changing laws in our community to better the lives of animals.

Dallas DogRRR does amazing work not just in rescuing animals but also in supporting animal welfare. We have saved countless dogs over the years, and as we approach our upcoming 10-year anniversary, we reflect on our longevity and sustainability. We just need your help right now to continue this important work.
These dogs, and countless others like them, depend on us for their survival. They rely on our ability to provide medical treatment, nourishment, and a safe haven until they find their forever homes. Without your immediate support, we risk not only their well-being but also the future of our organization.
We are urgently seeking your help to raise $50,000 within the next 30 days. This funding is crucial to ensure that we can continue to rescue, rehabilitate, and reform dogs in need. Your donation, no matter the amount, will make a significant impact and give us hope for the future.

Please consider donating today through our website at https://www.dallasdogrrr.org/save-dallas-dog or through PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App. Every dollar counts and brings us closer to keeping our doors open and saving more lives.
Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can ensure that dogs like Serenity, Harold, and Perkins receive the care and love they deserve. Thank you for your compassion and unwavering support during this critical time.

With deepest gratitude,
Patti Dawson

Great insights! Do you think this approach would also work for long sleeve polo shirts?
The transparency and vulnerability in your message show just how much heart is behind every rescue. You’ve chosen the harder road every time—opting for life, healing, and dignity. That is what sets you apart. In some strange way, your mission reminds me of playing Geometry Dash Lite—you hit endless obstacles, fall down, and try again, never giving up until you make it through. It's tough, frustrating, and sometimes feels impossible—but persistence always brings progress.
