I love dogs. That about sums it up why I am in rescue. They are such innocent, forgiving, loving, dependent creatures that need us to look out for them, unfortunately this world has people who don’t think they are worthy and abuse, neglect and dump them. There is nothing better than to see the difference you can make in a dog’s life by just caring, just giving and just loving. All positive things the world should embrace.

I have been in dog rescue for 30 years. I started fostering with DFW Sheltie Rescue for several years. Then moved to Flower Mound Humane Tomorrow where I fostered for several years. Then moved to Dallas and followed several rescues and Dallas Dogrrr stood out to me. They scared me a bit because they do take the most unwanted and challenging cases, those that need us the most but their work was fearless, determined, consistent and strong. I have met the most amazing dedicated people and it just drives me to want to do more. What a wonderful world this would be if everyone cared like this. I was fostering for Dallas Dogrrr and got more involved after Hurricane Harvey. I joined the Intake team, I follow all new intake and ensure they are entered in our system in a timely manner with pictures, bio and general information. Once entered I continue to follow for updates to their profiles so the latest information is always in the system for adopters. I love seeing all the dogs come through the rescue and following until their happily ever after. My heart aches each day to see the number of dogs and cats that need our help, it seems like an endless fight, I hope and pray one day we see the progress. My heart will not let me step away because this fight, this journey, this life saving rescue needs each and every person to lend a hand and help, we can’t give up. These innocent souls need us!
