Meet Kakashi! This handsome 20 year old fellow has been with us since September 2019, and is still hoping to find his forever home.

Kakashi was rescued from a property in East Dallas, where there were over 25 dogs. Many of the dogs were fearful, and most were unsocialized. The well-intentioned property owner was trying to help the local stray population, and just got overwhelmed.

Poor Kakashi was one of the most terrified dogs on the property, and he was very difficult to handle initially. He has been with a long term foster who has worked extremely hard to teach him to trust, and get him where he is still today. He still gets a little nervous with new people, and will bark at people he does not know or look for a place to hide. But he’s making progress every day, and is very sweet with people he’s comfortable with.

We would love to eventually find him a forever home that would be willing to meet him where he is, and work with him. Earning sweet Kakashi’s trust takes a little time and patience, but we know the right family is out there!
