This young pup has been let down by the humans in his life too many times. Dallas DogRRR is committed to helping him fight for a new healthy life.
Purchased from a backyard breeder, his initial owner discovered that Tyler had an obstruction (in his digestive tract). The owner was able to find help from a foundation to pay for life saving surgery. Follow up care was supposed to occur but the owner evaded veterinary staff calls despite their best efforts. Fast forward to November 2021, Tyler was back for another obstruction, this time they identified chicken bones and rocks (yes rocks!) as the cause. Once again, the owner could not afford surgery but the veterinary staff advocated for him and a rescue assisted with the cost of this second operation. Like a terrible case of deja vu, post-surgery instructions were provided and follow up care was requested by the Vet but the owner once again neglected to provide appropriate care.
Tyler Now- Safe With DallasDogRRR
Tyler eventually escaped this situation with the help of animal control. His past owner attempted to state that all care had been provided appropriately. Thankfully, the veterinary staff continued to be his voice and state that this was a lie. After his rescue he was kept at a shelter until he was picked up by a lovely foster family through DallasDogRRR.
Currently, Tyler is requiring multiple small meals each day and is finally gaining weight. Unfortunately he continues to have diarrhea daily. They were able to rule out EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) which is a condition where not enough digestive enzymes are produced. So Tyler will be returning for more blood work and tests in late May.
His foster mom says that Tyler is insanely sweet and finds his voice more and more like the husky he is! He is crate trained and good about letting his humans know when he needs to go out. Showers, popsicles, and walks with his dog friends are a few of his favorite things!
Follow along on this blog for updates about Tyler and his medical care!
Even though he is now safe from the abuse and neglect, there is still a difficult road ahead. If he has yet another obstruction (3 total) he may not survive. Tyler needs help your help! See below how to donate to help pups like him. DallasDogRRR is committed to doing what is needed to keep him safe and live a long happy life.
